Brief Bio

C J Carver's debut novel Blood Junction won the prestigious CWA Debut Dagger Award and was named one of the Best Mystery Books of 2002 by Publishers Weekly.

C J has been a travel writer and long-distance rally driver, clocking up over 45,000 miles of dirt tracks and trails from Saigon to Santiago, and her writing reveals her love of adventure and her passion for the wilderness.

Background:

Background: Half English, half New Zealand, C J was brought up on one of the first organic farms in the UK. This has made her strongly aware of the environment and the issues surrounding global warming. She lives in a rural cottage just outside Bath.

Broo Doherty has worked in publishing for the last twenty years. She has had a variety of different roles throughout the industry, having started as a production assistant at Victor Gollancz. She then moved to Hodder and Stoughton for a brief period, before joining Transworld as an editor for the Bantam Press imprint, where she was involved with authors such as David Gemmell, Anthony Holden and Jilly Cooper. Then she joined the agent Jane Gregory as the editorial director of Gregory and Company where she advised leading writers in the area of crime and women's commercial fiction. Broo handles all genres, excluding children's books, but particularly enjoys crime, cookery and commercial women's fiction.
